PART ONE. – With A OOTD Post Below↓
After having a few week stint of zero inspiration, endless frustration and quite possibly a Netflix induced coma, I had a burst of true life inspo happen to me. Through the realization that if I don’t post something new by end of today I don’t think I can call myself a blogger ever again I realized what my issue was but also what I wanted to speak about. LAZINESS.
Being involved in blogging, writing or anything social media related can be extremely difficult at times no matter who you are.
One thing I am realizing, through my fellow blogging/social media groups is most of us are in the same boat, even those normal super energetic, high motivated types.
However, what if you are an inherently lazy person.
Like, you legit LOVE to lay around and do nothing, holed up in your house, watching the hours pass by and putz around like you’ve got nothing to do?
How does being a successful blogger, social media person or even just an entrepreneur work if you’re lazy by nature?
Self motivation is the key to being a successful blogger or instagrammer.
You have to tell yourself when to start work, what to write about, analyze your posts, plan, create and educate yourself on all things “happening” and current in the social media world.
This is hard for any human being much less a lazy one, like myself.
When you are sitting at home and that TV is 5 ft from your face, you inherently want to lay down on that couch and turn on Netflix. To tell yourself, ” NO, YOU HAVE TO WRITE A POST ” instead of getting comfy and snuggling up with your dog can feel nearly impossible. And some days it is. You fail to listen to the voice that knows better and you give in and sit on the couch and watch Netflix…. all day.
GUILTY AS CHARGED.
The key is to set routines.
Make sure you wake up at a certain time everyday, plan to work for X amount of hours or to achieve X amount of posts and your reward can then be to watch X on TV or whatever your lazy or tempting achilles heel might be for reward.
Either that or get out of your home. If you know it can be too easy to fall into your Netflix and Chill traps, rather take the couch out of the equation all together.
You have to listen and learn and be honest about who you really are, if you wanted to be successful.
If you tend to be a naturally lazy person, don’t allow yourself the opportunity to fall into lazy routines, get out and work at a coffee shop. If you find you get distracted easily with the internet or your phone, turn off your wifi or phone and don’t allow yourself to pick it up until you complete your tasks!
We are all human and we will have our off days, lazy times, uncreative moments and frustrated fails but we have to keep pushing through and trying again.
We live in such an awesome time, to be able to work remotely from anywhere in the world! It is such a gift, and if you have to ability to capitalize on that, DO IT.
Work hard. Focus harder. Success will follow.
.NOW TO WOO YOU WITH AN OUTFIT.
All About That BASE.
This one is a favorite of mine.
I dig this look because it is casual, fun and trendy, and literally every single item is from one store, COTTON ON, which means, easy shopping for those lazy people! HAHA.
I don’t usually dress up on a day to day basis, I am a pretty casual person. So to have pieces that I can dress up or dress down are KEY for my style, like these rad 90’s style black high waisted jeans from Cotton On.
I also found these blue crushed velvet slip ons, which I am not going to lie, I walked past 9-10 times thinking to myself, “But DO I REALLY like these?” “These are kind of extreme” .. “Maybe they’re too weird.” until finally I put them on and was like “F*ck It… I DIG THESE!” And I am so glad I did.
They are definitely statement shoes but they make me feel good when I wear them and they add a fun playful element to even my most basic outfits.
